The spirit of Jezebel has been coming against the prophetic people of God for centuries. At this time I believe the Lord wants to remind us as the Body of Christ there is an intense spiritual battle taking place, but we can stand against the wiles of the devil and triumph in the Lord.
The main objective of this demonic spirit is to wage war against the fulfilment of prophecy in your life and stop the Kingdom from advancing. This spiritual wickedness in the heavenly realm operates as a destiny thief.
Jezebel like any demonic force is not a person, although it can operate through a person. We are not fighting people but the spirit behind the behaviour, all warfare is won in the spirit realm with the weapons of our warfare.
”For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ephesians 6:12
Some things to remember about this destiny thief. The Spirit of Jezebel is not a female demon there are no male nor female spirits. Although we have a great picture of this spirit in operation working in Queen Jezebel from the book of 1 Kings.
This spirit of Jezebel is what is called a world ruler ”spiritual wickedness in the heavenly realms” spoken of in Ephesians 6:12. If you have not noticed Satan is not operating from hell he is working out of the second heaven. There is a time coming when he will be cast into hell forever. Scripture says he is called the prince of the power of the air. Ephesians 2:2, or the god of this world 2 Corinthians 4:4.
The spirit of Jezebel is known as a strongman which are dealt with in the book of Revelation with the other two strongmen. (Antichrist and Death and Hell) They will be dealt with once and for all, each one will be thrown into the lake of fire.
Unholy Trinity
Jezebel: Comes against the move of the Holy Spirit.
Antichrist: Comes against the testimony of Jesus.
Death & Hell: Comes against the Goodness of the Heavenly Father
When dealing with Jezebel, you don’t cast out a strongmen you bind it and take their goods. It is a process of unravelling a network of wickedness.
”But no one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.” Mark 3:27
Jezebel’s ruling spirit is deception which makes it difficult to identify at times.
I want to clarify the tactics of this demon power.
We know Jezebel comes directly against the move of the Holy Spirit. Jezebel is assigned to silence the voice of the prophets and shut down the prophetic using any means possible. Jezebel accomplishes this largely using discouragement.
As we are coming to the end of this church age we have seen much prophetic movement happening across the earth but it is not without an adversary.
Jesus gave instructions to the last days church,”come out from under the Jezebel Spirit Rev 2:20-23. I believe the more we bring understanding to the way this spirit deceives we will see more people set free.
Evil spirits including Jezebel attack by projecting thoughts, that is how they communicate with humans. It is our job to recognise the lies of the enemy. Once we receive a lie as truth we begin the process of bringing it it to pass.
Eg. ”You are not hearing from God you probably should not share that word with anyone” etc We have all heard these lies.
Once you receive these lies as truth ”you are not hearing from God” Jezebel has achieved its purpose to shut you up. Even though we might be seasoned prophets we can still fall into the ambush of the enemy.
Some indications you are under a Jezebel assignment or Jezebel is affecting you are discussed below, this list is not exhaustive but I wanted to share some of the areas I have encountered attacks over the past 25 years.
You are experiencing fear, extreme irrational Fear. You are in good company Elijah the prophet fell under this assignment and it ran him out if town.
Unexplained depression, oppression even thoughts of suicide. Elijah the prophet wanted to die under the attack of Queen Jezebel.
False Accusations. Jezebel to get her way will always use sons of Belial.
People to release false accusations against Gods people. As she did against Naboth 1 Kings 21.
You can't sense God and things become unclear. The enemy often brings confusion during these kind of attacks we forget who God is and what He has already done in our lives. The aim is to lose our vision then you lose your direction which eventually causes you to lose your purpose.
Isolation. We know this happened to the Prophet Elijah he ended up in a cave alone feeling abandoned by God. When you’re under the influence of a spirit of Jezebel you feel disconnected and you will start isolating.
Less zeal followed by a strong urge to quit. Often in long battles we can become battle weary. Hope deferred makes the heart sick hopelessness sets in and we get the urge to give up. This is the whole purpose of the attack to get you to quit.
Excessive tiredness. I believe the auto immune system is affected by this spirit causing unusual fatigue. Elijah went to sleep under a tree after encountering Jezebel.
Intimidation. Jezebel likes to bring intimidation to a point where you question your identity and what Gods called you to do. Everything becomes clouded through the mindset of intimidation.
We must remember no matter what we face in these attacks it is recognising this spirit that is half the battle. Once you do bind the Spirit of Jezebel and repent of agreeing with it's lies, completely fall out of agreement with those lies.
Then reflect on the goodness of God take out your prophetic words and start decreeing Gods plans for your life.
Take time after any attack to wait on the Lord and have your strength renewed allow him to cause you to rise up on wings of Eagles.
I hope this helps you to see the plans of the enemy plainly and stop blaming yourself and make the adjustments needed to come out from the snare of the fowler.
