In these last months, we have seen so much written about bringing the things of the Spirit into manifestation. This is a time of prophecies being decreed into existence. All prophecies require our partnership with God.
Our Covenant-Revealing and Covenant-Keeping God
Many of us have been asking, "How do we release God's power and rule in this earthly realm over our enemies?" As I was pondering over this, I was taken back to the grassroots of covenant promises. Covenant promises have the purpose and power to create.
God is a covenant-revealing God; He will always reveal His covenant promises to His people; then it's up to us to respond by believing His promises spoken to us. As we stand on and decree these covenant promises, we will see our covenant-keeping God in action.
The Purpose and Power of Covenant
Part of our covenant is to receive lands (regions and nations) and bring Heaven to Earth. This is the Body of Christ's days of preparation to rule the nations with Christ.
"That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the Lord sware (covenant) unto your fathers to give them, as the days of Heaven upon the earth." (Deuteronomy 11:21, emphasis mine)
Covenant releases the power inside the promises of God so they can be manifested on Earth. That is the purpose of covenant – to co-create. All of God's promises are brought into this natural realm as a result of covenant. We are healed as Christians through the covenant of healing, and the unbeliever is healed through God's mercy. Covenant unlocks inheritance.
"For this reason, Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance – now that He has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant." (Hebrews 9:15)
Inside of the covenant promises is all the power we need to manifest God's inheritance. For example, His healing promises have all the power to heal what you need to see healed, and inside His peace promises are found all the peace we need to calm the storm; power is released as we speak these promises into the areas where they are required.
Covenant is a powerful weapon in battle. We are to stand on our covenant promises so that we don't sink, because they are the anchor of our soul as it says in Hebrews 6:16-20:
"People swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of His purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, He confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have run to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."
Jesus has already entered behind the curtain to obtain our covenant promises. That means they are settled in Heaven; they have been sworn by someone greater and they can't be broken.
Governmental Anointing
The Lord has also been explaining the "governmental anointing" which He said is being released in this time in a greater way to the Body of Christ. It is an anointing to rule and reign; to tear down kingdoms of darkness in families, regions and nations. At the same time, God's Kingdom rule is being established as promised in Daniel 2:44:
"In the time of those kings, the God of Heaven will set up a Kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever."
This is a covenant promise God has set up – a Kingdom that is everlasting. We must decree that every other kingdom is coming to an end, and that God's Kingdom is being set up on the earth to endure forever. These are not just words in a book; they are covenant promises that cannot be broken.
"No, I will not break My covenant; I will not take back a single word I said." (Psalm 89:34)
Provision for God's Building Assignments
There are so many building assignments being released in the Body of Christ in this time. So where is the provision to build the Kingdom? It's all in the covenant promises. "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). If God has given you an assignment, He will always give you covenant promises to see it completed.
This is one of the keys of the Kingdom to be used in this hour; we have all been given covenant promises, let's start decreeing them and watch darkness flee and light create.
Take Up Your Sword
Our God is a promise keeper. Often we think He gives us these covenant promises just to bring peace to our souls, but actually, when He gives us a covenant promise, it is like handing us a spiritual sword in a battle that has the enemy's name on it.
Take up your sword today and tear down the enemy's plans, but more importantly, watch God create.
"For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)
This word is saying that God's covenant promises penetrate the lies of the enemy. They changes our thoughts and attitudes so that we can have an overcoming mindset. It is time for God's family to think and act like Him.
