God's Covenant People
Recently, the Lord started to speak to me through the account in Exodus chapter one about the Israelites when they were under the Egyptians. The Israelites were increasing even in captivity, so the Egyptians put taskmasters over them to oppress them. But they still grew, despite being oppressed by their enemies, and kept multiplying.
"But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites." (Exodus 1:12 )
Then it goes on to say, "The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, 'When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth on the delivery stool, if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.' The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, 'Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?' The midwives answered Pharaoh, 'Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive.'" (Exodus 1:15-19)
I believe there is a prophetic parallel running through this account to what is happening now. The enemy has tried to oppress God's covenant people from all sides. The picture in this story reveals the taskmasters treating the people of God ruthlessly, but still, they multiplied. Even though the assignment was to kill off the seed of God and stop them from multiplying, they kept increasing.
The Midwives in the Move of God
It doesn't matter what the enemy has on his mind, the timeline of God is for the prodigals to return and new births to keep increasing! This is our Exodus and we are coming out!
God's plan is for the Church to keep multiplying and spreading in influence. It may look like we are isolated and in the hands of our respective governments, but don't be deceived – God is not mocked. The Body of Christ has sown and sown. The harvest is here. We are being transformed and set up for divine increase – it's just happening right in the trenches. This is the kairos time where we will follow God. We are not waiting on the timing of man. We will fear God, not man.
I believe the midwives in the story represent the modern-day intercessors, watchmen, and gatekeepers. These "midwives" are Heaven's negotiators who have decreed the harvest for decades and decades over cities, regions and nations. They have been assisting and protecting the birthing that is taking place all over the nations.
Receive His Promises
Attached to these Scriptures in Exodus chapter one are a few promises for the midwives in the earth today:
1. God is showing you kindness.
2. You will see the fruit of your prayers and the increase of God's people.
3. Because you have feared God, we are about to see more and more prayer families/movements arise from the nations.
"So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. And because the midwives feared God, He gave them families of their own." (Exodus 1:20-21)
Receive these promises today, all you faithful prayer warriors who have stormed the gates of Hell and who have faced the fury of satan's assignments. To all those faithful "midwives" who have laid down your lives to pay the price over and over, your reward is close!
